The room
Where is Gather?
Gather is on the ground floor of Jayshree House on Govandi Station Road, in Deonar, Govandi East, Mumbai 400088.
How many people can Gather hold?
Gather seats 35 at tables and chairs and holds up to 50 standing. We've run a dance floor at that number.
How big is the room?
The room is 1,000 square feet. It seats 35 at tables or holds up to 50 standing.
What can I hold at Gather?
Birthdays and house parties, workshops such as yoga, sound and skin, pop-ups, grazing tables and high teas, corporate mornings and Saturday away days, and podcasts and content shoots.
Who runs Gather?
Gather is the event space of Break of Dawn, which makes fresh almond milk and plant-based cheese by hand in Mumbai. In its own words: "Eight years ago this was a kitchen, and one very good idea."
Can I just walk in?
No. Gather is open by booking only; it is not a café. Pick a slot on the booking calendar, or message us on WhatsApp first.
What are Gather's hours?
Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm. Saturday, 10am to 10pm, and it can be extended to 11pm. Sunday, 10am to 1pm.
Is Gather step-free?
Yes. There are no steps at the entrance, and the washroom is accessible.
Are there washrooms?
Yes. There is a guest washroom, and a separate one for staff.
Is the room air-conditioned?
Yes. The room is fully air-conditioned.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes. The room has Wi-Fi at 100 to 150 Mbps.
Is there a projector, speakers or a mic?
There is always a speaker in the room. A projector, screen or microphone can be arranged on request.
Prices
How much does it cost to hire Gather?
₹2,500 an hour with a two-hour minimum, ₹8,000 for four hours, or ₹12,000 for eight hours. Taxes are added as applicable, on top of the hire charge.
What is the shortest booking?
Two hours. At ₹2,500 an hour, the smallest booking is ₹5,000 before tax.
How much is an extra hour?
Up to four hours, every hour is ₹2,500, so three hours cost ₹7,500. After four hours, each extra hour is ₹1,000, so eight hours come to ₹12,000 whichever way you book.
Is there a half-day rate?
Yes. Four hours cost ₹8,000, which is 20% less than ₹10,000 at the hourly rate.
Is there a full-day rate?
Yes. Eight hours cost ₹12,000, which is 40% less than ₹20,000 at the hourly rate.
Is setup and clean-up time included?
Yes. Setup and clean-up are included in the hours you book, with no separate charge.
Are taxes included in the price?
No. Taxes are added as applicable, on top of the hire charge.
Can you issue a GST invoice?
Yes. Gather can issue a GST invoice in your company's name.
How can we pay?
By UPI, card, bank transfer or cash.
Food
Can we bring non-vegetarian food?
No. Gather is vegan and vegetarian only, and no non-vegetarian food is facilitated or allowed. We'd rather say so now than on the day.
Can we bring food from outside?
External vegetarian refreshments can be arranged case by case. Tell us what you have in mind when you book.
Is it vegan only, or is dairy allowed?
Dairy is allowed. Guests can bring paneer, ghee, mithai and other dairy. The one rule is no non-vegetarian food.
What's on the spreads?
Morning table, ₹500 a person: almond milk or cold coffee, granola, a bliss ball. High tea, ₹600 a person: almond feta, cream cheese, crackers, something sweet. Grazing table, ₹700 a person: feta, cream cheese, dips, crackers, savoury nuts. Signature spread, ₹1,100 a person: the grazing table, plus burrata, dessert and drinks.
How much is the catering?
It is priced per person: morning table ₹500, high tea ₹600, grazing table ₹700, signature spread ₹1,100, for at least 15 guests.
Is there a minimum number of guests for catering?
Yes, catering is for 15 guests or more. A room-only booking needs no food at all.
Is the room free if we order food?
Yes. The four-hour hire is free with catering above ₹12,000, and the full day with catering above ₹18,000.
Can the food be delivered somewhere else?
Yes. The spreads can also be delivered elsewhere. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 84335 19280 with the date, the number of guests and the address.
Can an outside chef use the kitchen?
Yes. An outside chef can use the kitchen at Gather. Tell us what you are planning when you book.

How do I book Gather?

What happens if we cancel?
Once a date is confirmed, a change of plan or a cancellation carries a charge. 10% of the booking up to 7 days before; 50% of the booking 3 days before; 100% of the booking 1 day before.
How long does it take to get to Gather?
By car at a normal time of day: Chembur about 10 minutes, Ghatkopar about 20 minutes, BKC 25 to 30 minutes, Vashi 30 to 40 minutes. Govandi station is a 10 to 15 minute walk.
Is there parking?
Yes. There is parking for three to four cars.
Can we play music, and until when?
Yes. Music is fine until 10pm.
Can we decorate the room?
Yes. Balloons, candles, confetti and tape on the walls are all fine, and a decorator can come in early to set up.
